Cassidy Methot
Computer Science & Graphic Design Student

My name is Cassidy Methot, and I am a Junior here at Roger Williams University with a Senior standing in terms of credits. I am from Londonderry, NH which is on the southern New Hampshire border. I am double majoring in Computer Science and Graphic Design with a minor in Math. I recently changed majors from Engineering, but I am excited for my new path and have
been looking into pursuing web design. I have a special interest in Human Factors or people-centered designs to help make the usability of websites easier and more convenient for people.

This summer, I had the opportunity to study abroad in Japan for Graphic Design where I learned a lot of interesting design techniques for people’s convenience which was really inspiring to me. I also like to learn languages and have virtually attended Duolingo’s yearly conventions since 2020 because they talk about how they incorporate different teaching methods and layout techniques in their app to keep users engaged, which I find really fascinating. I have both a technical mindset as well as a creative mindset which I think partner well with each other in terms of both learning how to code and learning ways to make things eye-catching and exciting for people. I am very excited to begin this class and learn about how we interact with the digital aspects of our lives.
